Eswatini Air is making the right waves in the region and the African continent.

Eswatini Air’s Director Commercial, Xavier Masule says a number of reputable Airlines have contacted them in a bid to forge strategic partnerships.

“Even though our airline is still an infant in this space, it pleases us that other countries and Airlines want to partner with us. We have received requests and interest for partnerships from leading airlines around the continent,” Masule noted.

The Director highlighted the strategic partners they want to work with going forward. Some of these Airlines include; British Airways, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Ethiopian Airways, South African Airways, Delta Airways, Airlink, Kenya Airways, Air Botswana, Rwanda Air, and Lufthansa.

Masule disclosed this during the Lets Fly Eswatini Air Indaba held today at the Business Eswatini (BE) premises.

Present during the Indaba was the Minister of Commerce Industry & Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, who represented the Minister of Public Works & Transport Chief Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe, the Eswatini Air Executive team, board members, as well as representatives from the private sector.

The aim of the engagement was to promote the use of Eswatini Air to the private sector.

Minister Manqoba Khumalo in his address noted that it was pleasing that a number of international Airlines want to partner with Eswatini Air.

He said the partnerships would present massive opportunities as a number of countries would love to connect directly from their country to Eswatini.

The Minister made an example of Bangladesh, stating that, that country has openly expressed that they want to have a direct partnership with Eswatini.

Khumalo concluded by stating that the private sector is at the forefront of Eswatini Air’s success and without them the airline will struggle.

“I urge the private sector to come on board and support the country’s Airline. Eswatini Air’s biggest market is the business community. We, therefore, appeal for support from the business community”.

Worth noting is that Eswatini Air is also working on increasing its flight destinations which they will announce in due course. They currently service, Johannesburg, Harare, Cape Town, and Durban. Masule said future proposed destinations are dependent on how the partnerships they forge unfold.
