The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) has announced that payments for Ministry of Commerce services will no longer be processed at Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) Service Centres from 1 May 2026, with clients now required to make all such payments at Eswatini Post and Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC) Post Offices nationwide.
The announcement, issued through a public notice by ERS Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule, marks a shift in how transactions for services such as company registration, liquor licences, and trading licences will be handled going forward.
“Clients requiring these services are advised to make their payments at EPTC Post Offices nationwide,” the Commissioner General said.
The change effectively removes ERS Service Centres as payment points for these Ministry of Commerce services, redirecting all clients to the country’s network of post offices. The move is expected to improve accessibility, given EPTC’s broader national footprint, particularly in areas where ERS facilities may not be readily available.
While further operational details have not been outlined, the transition points to a broader government effort to streamline service delivery and decentralise payment systems. It is also likely to ease congestion at ERS Service Centres, which have traditionally managed a high volume of transactions.
The development comes as a result of an MoU between ERS and EPTC, signed in September last year, to allow emaSwati to pay for Government services at local Post Offices. The collaboration forms part of Phase II of the Revenue Takeover Project, which centralizes non-tax revenue collections under ERS. Through the partnership, government services that previously required travel to regional or central ERS offices will now be available at over 30 post offices nationwide.
