Vusumnotfo Expo 2023 Kicks Off On 22-25 March

The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), The Federation of Eswatini Business Community (FESBC), and Tums Water World Hotel have once again partnered to organize the Vusumnotfo Expo 2023.

The Expo runs from 22 to 25 March 2023 and will be taking place for the second year running. It is aimed at developing trade and economic activity in Eswatini.

EIPA, Manager Domestic Trade, Siphesihle Nkhabindze, comments on the event and the value it holds for commercial activity in The Kingdom. He notes that one of EIPA’s priorities is to stimulate trade in Eswatini by linking businesses to opportunities and resources which will grow their capabilities.

“We have chosen two focus areas for this year’s Expo, firstly; financing options for any business and secondly, shining the spotlight on women in trade. We have chosen these two focus areas because we often find that finance is one of the main areas which hinders a business from scaling and reaching new levels. We have also pinpointed the need to focus on empowering female traders to increase their presence in the country.”

He adds that the four-day event will offer an opportunity for business people from all around Eswatini to network and gain valuable knowledge which could enhance their operations and, ultimately, their expansion. He says this will be done through a combination of seminars, networking dinners, and exhibitions by traders. The Expo also comprises a family day running on the last day which is expected to be a fun-filled day for the whole family.

EIPA notes in a press release that the 2023 Expo will begin with a business dinner on the evening of the 22nd of March, followed by half-day seminars on the 23rd and 24th of March. On the afternoons of both days, Expo visitors will be given time to visit the different exhibition stands at the event.

This event will also give the venue sponsor Tums Water World an opportunity to showcase its versatility as a host for events both within the business arena and for social functions.

Mr. Tum Du Pont, President of FESBC, also gives a view of the importance of growing local business and stimulating trade in Eswatini.

“One of the most valuable benefits of supporting local businesses is realizing that these entrepreneurs create employment opportunities for the people in their communities. In recent times, Eswatini has experienced challenging economic conditions due to a number of local and global factors which have adversely affected our operating environment. Events like the Vusumnotfo Expo are a way of assisting local businesses with the knowledge and opportunities they need to become financially viable entities that are able to make a positive impact for growth and development in our Kingdom.”

More details on the event can be found on EIPA’s Facebook page, Investing In Eswatini, as well as the Vusumnotfo Expo 2023 Facebook page. Businesses are invited to register as exhibitors and reap the benefits of the exposure the Expo offers.

Potential exhibitors can download the application form from www.fesbc.net. Those interested in the business dinner can contact the FESBC team at fesbcsales@gmail.com or by calling (+268) 7642 8714.

Depending on the exhibition package they choose, exhibiting businesses may automatically qualify for a limited number of complimentary seats at the business dinner.

The EIPA Manager concludes by encouraging businesses to partake in the Expo.“We would like to encourage all types of businesses to book an exhibition space at the Vusumnotfo Expo 2023. The more representation we have at the event, the more value it will hold for those who attend. Businesses can also look forward to having their brands exposed to a prospective clientele whom they could later turn into repeat customers. In the past year, the Expo saw an attendance of over 1500 people over the 4-day event. We look forward to hosting, even more, this year.”
