The STEM Expo, a premier event aimed at showcasing and encouraging excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), is set to take place on August 9, 2024, at SIMPA.
This significant initiative, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Information Communications and Technology, is part of the Research, Science, and Technology Park’s (RSTP) efforts to inspire and engage students across Eswatini.
The Expo is part of the events that will precede the Eswatini National Science Week, themed “Igniting Curiosity, Inspiring Innovation: Science for a Sustainable Economic Growth.” This theme underscores the Expo’s commitment to fostering a passion for STEM disciplines and encouraging creativity among young scientists.

The Expo is open to a diverse range of participants, including out-of-school youth, STEM startups, university students, high school students, and primary school students. Registration to exhibit is open until August 4, 2024. All interested in STEM are encouraged to attend and engage with the displays and projects on 9 August 2024.
Schools, educators, and students are urged to actively participate, while industry partners and sponsors are invited to support and collaborate on this significant event. The flagship sponsor for this year’s Expo is Macmillan Eswatini, with additional support from the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in the Kingdom of Eswatini, the Eswatini Communications Commission, and the High Commission of India, Eswatini.
The National STEM Expo promises to be a vibrant platform for young innovators to demonstrate their skills, share their research, and contribute to the future of STEM in Eswatini. Media coverage and community support are vital to maximize the Expo’s impact and outreach.
