MTN Eswatini Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wandile Mtshali says their business division is critical to them as it generates around 30% of their total annual revenue.

The CEO was speaking during the mobile telecommunications company’s luncheon held at the Happy Valley Hotel where they had invited MTN Business clients. Without disclosing their total annual revenue as a company Mtshali expressed gratitude to their clients.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients who comprise small, medium, and large businesses for their continued support. If you look at our total revenue for the year at MTN Eswatini, 30% of it comes from businesses, be they large or small, and we appreciate you as we would not be where we are without your support”.

Furthermore, Mtshali revealed that MTN Eswatini spends a capital expenditure of more than E200 million per year on infrastructure to ensure that they improve their service offering. He said this amount goes to expanding their network and IT systems, as well as other programmes within their organization.

“We are one of the organizations on the African continent with the best network coverage, which again is because of the capital expenditure we spend. We are currently sitting at 98% network coverage on 3G, and on LTE we are at 80%. We have also committed to building more base stations in 2023 to improve our LTE coverage”.

The CEO also disclosed that they are aware of the issue of data pricing being high in the country, and it’s something they are working on as a company. He said customers must take into account that they also spend a lot of money to provide quality service and as much as they are working on reducing prices it is not something that would happen overnight.
