The Ministry of Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) in the Kingdom of Eswatini has announced that Minister Savannah Maziya has been awarded the prestigious LIFETIME AWARDS FOR AFRICA ECONOMY BUILDERS FORUM & AWARDS (Les Battisseurs de L’Economie African).

This award is one of the illustrious recognitions in Africa. It celebrates the awardees’ contributions to economic development in the continent. It was presented to her on July 4, 2024, during a grand ceremony held in the Ivory Coast.

The Minister was further honored with a Leadership award on July 11 from the French African Marketing Association.

This year’s theme was “Act and Impact,” and Minister Maziya’s leadership was particularly lauded for its broad influence across the continent, including French-speaking African countries.

Her contributions were recognized alongside other distinguished Lifetime Award recipients, including Mo Ibrahim, a Sudanese-British telecommunications magnate; Sir Sam Jonah, a Ghanaian gold mining entrepreneur; and Samuel Dossou-Aworet, a prominent figure in the petrochemical industry.

The Minister of Infrastructure and ICT of Ivory Coast, who presented the award, praised Minister Maziya for her outstanding contribution and strategic focus on the African continent, particularly her remarkable work in South Africa and her engagement with French-speaking African countries.

On a related note, the Minister was recognized for her outstanding marketing excellence and stellar leadership acumen within the African continent and received a Leadership Award from the French African Marketing Association, further affirming the global recognition and notable contributions to leadership and innovation.

The African Economy Builders Awards, established in 2006, celebrates African and diaspora elites who have achieved national and global success, as well as multinationals who have made significant investments in Africa.

Minister Maziya’s recognition, as the sole recipient of the Lifetime Award this year, solidifies her standing as a visionary leader and an advocate for sustainable economic growth across the African continent.

Maziya, who was also invited as the Guest of Honor at the event, attended the ceremony virtually, where she joined over 300 participants from multifaceted sectors, including oil, infrastructure, hospitality, asset management, and banking. The gathering featured prominent companies and senior government officials, predominantly from French-speaking nations.
