Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) has donated medical equipment worth E250, 000 to the Mbabane Government Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
This is the second donation the Corporation has made to the department in the last 3 years.
The equipment donated includes portable electrical suction machines, also known as aspirators, used to remove obstructions from a person’s airways.
The corporation also donated medical monitors which assist hospital staff in observing ICU patients’ blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, level of consciousness, and temperature.
Lastly, the donation included medical waste trolleys used to transfer medical wastes from the operating and intervention rooms.
Speaking on behalf of the government hospital, Matron Zanele Simelane expressed appreciation to ESRIC, whom she referred to as a partner, for the continuous support the department has received since 2021.
She mentioned that with the help of organizations like ESRIC, they are able to provide high-quality medical assistance to patients in critical conditions and are able to save a lot of Emaswati lives in the process. She then urged ESRIC to continue helping so that more lives are served and saved.
ESRIC Assistant General Manager – Corporate Services Mandla Dlamini thanked the government hospital in general and the ICU department in particular for the stellar work of saving the lives of Emaswati, most of whom come in critical condition and in need of highly intensive care and support.
He then highlighted that ESRIC, an insurer in the business of ensuring a better tomorrow, and today, is both proud and happy to support the ICU department and hopes more lives will be saved now and in the future.
