The Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) has officially renewed ten licenses for general electronic communications companies.

The companies operate in the electronic communications space and offer installation, maintenance, importation, distribution, and sale of electronic communications equipment.

These licenses were initially granted on October 25, 2021, and reflect the Commission’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high industry standards.

The renewed licenses are held by the following entities: B.S. N Technical Services (PTY) Limited (trading as NETCOMM), Computronics Systems (PTY) Limited, CYB/SAB Investments (PTY) Limited, Informatics (AFRICA) (PTY) Limited (trading as PC Systems), JD Group Eswatini (PTY) Limited (trading as HiFicorp), Printout Swaziland (PTY) Limited, SGL Technologies (PTY) Limited, Slomoes Corporation (PTY) Limited, The Office Centre (PTY) Limited (trading as City Office Machines), and Tsembeka Bobhuti Investments (PTY) Limited (trading as Planet Cellular).

At the renewal ceremony held at ESCCOM offices in Mbabane, ESCCOM Chief Executive, Mvilawemphi Dlamini, emphasized the significance of compliance and quality service within the electronic communications sector.

“It is both a privilege and a pleasure to celebrate a significant milestone in the journey of the electronic communications sector,” Dlamini said. He extended his congratulations to the licensees, acknowledging their dedication, innovation, and resilience in a dynamic industry.

“The renewal of these licenses is not just a formality; it represents a reaffirmation of our collective responsibility to adhere to the highest standards of regulatory compliance,” he added. Dlamini stressed that maintaining compliance is essential for the integrity of the industry and for maintaining the trust and confidence of consumers.

He further highlighted the importance of prioritizing quality of service, stating, “We have to ensure that every communication, every interaction, and every experience our customers have with us is not only satisfactory but exemplary.”

Dlamini urged the licensees to commit to quality, enhancing their brand reputation, and enriching the lives of consumers who rely on their services for daily communications, education, and connectivity.

Consumer protection was also a key focus of Dlamini’s address. In a rapidly evolving technological landscape, he stressed the need to safeguard consumer data, ensure transparent pricing, and foster an environment where consumers feel secure and valued.

“As we embark on this new chapter, let us strengthen our collaboration and build a robust framework that meets regulatory expectations while championing consumer needs,” Dlamini concluded.

He encouraged the licensees to view this renewal as an opportunity to elevate industry standards and reaffirm their commitment to compliance, quality service, and consumer protection.
