EIPA Opens Applications For Taipei International Food Show 2025

The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) has officially opened applications for local food and beverage companies wishing to take part in the Taipei International Food Show (Food Taipei) from 25 to 28 June 2025.

Taking place in Taiwan’s capital city (Taipei), Food Taipei is one of Asia’s largest food and beverage trade shows, covering 16 key segments including beverages, dairy, confectionery, seafood, meat and poultry, frozen food, fruits, vegetables, snacks, seasonings, and health supplements.

This event presents a unique opportunity for Eswatini-based businesses to showcase their products, connect with potential buyers and distributors, and gain firsthand insights into international market trends.

Thandeka Dlamini, Manager of External Trade Promotion at EIPA, highlighted the importance of the opportunity, emphasizing that it offers much-needed global exposure to Eswatini’s food and beverage sector.

“Exhibiting at Food Taipei is an exciting opportunity for local businesses in Eswatini’s food and beverage industry. The global exposure they will receive will not only allow them to showcase their value proposition and products but also to benchmark against other brands from around the world. They will also gain insights into other markets to which they want to export their products,” she said.

The opportunity comes as part of EIPA’s partnership with the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), which has facilitated Eswatini’s participation in international trade fairs. Furthermore, Eswatini’s involvement in Taiwanese trade shows aligns with the Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA) signed between the two countries.

This agreement enhances trade relations and provides preferential entry for Eswatini’s agro-processed products into Taiwan, opening new doors for local exporters.

EIPA is calling on food and beverage businesses with the capacity to scale up production for international markets to apply. Preference will be given to companies that are already exporting and looking to expand into Asia.

Dlamini emphasized the need for applicants to meet international standards and regulatory requirements:

“As per EIPA’s mandate, we will continue to provide trade support to these businesses and assist them as they begin or expand their export journey. As they are aware, exporting in the food and beverage industry is highly regulated, so they should have a good knowledge of standards and labeling requirements.”

She further encouraged businesses to bring innovative product offerings to the trade show, stating that a strong understanding of demand and supply dynamics in international markets would be beneficial for success.
