Eswatini’s own Dr Lungile Dlamini has been appointed to the prestigious G100 Global Advisory Council, joining an elite collective of influential women leaders from around the world.

Dr Dlamini, who currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council of Manzini, has been named an Advisory Member in the category of Sports Empowerment and Championships under the All Ladies League (ALL), a global platform advancing gender equality and leadership.

The G100 Council is a distinguished collective of 100 influential women leaders from across the globe. Its membership includes Nobel Laureates, former Heads of State, Ministers, CEOs, Philanthropists, and Visionaries, united in their mission to promote opportunities for women worldwide.

Announcing the news on her social media platforms, Dr. Dlamini expressed her commitment to purposeful leadership.

“Leadership, to me, has always been about calm influence, creating space, nurturing potential, and walking with others as they find their own voice. Together, we continue building pathways that empower and transform.”

Dr. Dlamini now joins other globally recognized figures such as Mapulane Phohleli, Lesotho’s renowned philanthropist and founder of the Motšeeo Football Club.

Phohleli, herself a key figure in the G100 Sports Empowerment category, welcomed Dr. Dlamini, stating, “With lots of excitement, I wish to welcome and introduce Dr. Lungile Dlamini on behalf of the visionary founder Dr. Harbeen Arora Rai, President Bodil Valero, and the G100 Sports Empowerment and Championship.”

She further praised Dr. Dlamini for her impactful leadership and achievements.

“Dr. Dlamini has successfully implemented strategic initiatives that enhanced service delivery and achieved prestigious global and industry awards.”

Dr. Dlamini currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council of Manzini, Vice President (International) of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and President of the Eswatini Local Authorities Managers Association (ELAMA).

With over 20 years’ experience in both local and national government, she is recognized as a results-oriented, strategic leader. Her contributions include the development of governance frameworks like the Board Charter, Enterprise Risk Management Framework, and a Quality Management System. She has also championed Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) to overcome fiscal challenges and spearheaded key urban development strategies such as town planning schemes and local economic development.

Under her leadership, the municipality has won several global awards, including: Company of the Year, Conformity Assessment Body of the Year, and Customer Service Excellence Awards, to name only a few.

Her announcement was met with widespread congratulations from industry leaders and peers.

One such message came from fellow industry leader Zodwa Pakade, who said,

“Congratulations, Lungile. This is well deserved, and I know that your contribution will be immense.”

Another commenter echoed national pride. “Congratulations, ma’am. Here’s to Eswatini taking on the world.”

Dr. Dlamini’s appointment to the G100 Council marks a significant milestone, not only in her illustrious career but also in the ongoing recognition of Eswatini’s leadership on the global stage.
