AlphSZ Injects E100 000 Into Border2Border Cycling Tour

Investment company AlphSZ has injected E100 000 towards the 2026 Border2Border Cycling Tour, providing a major boost to one of Eswatini’s growing sports tourism events ahead of its June 13 staging.

The sponsorship was officially announced during the launch of the sixth edition of the Border2Border Cycling Tour held in Mbabane on Tuesday, where stakeholders from the tourism, sports, and business sectors gathered to celebrate the upcoming endurance race.

The investment is expected to strengthen critical areas of the event, including route coordination, participant safety, logistics, and promotional activities as organisers intensify preparations for the national cycling experience.

Speaking during the launch, AlphSZ CEO and Founder Thandile Nxumalo said the sponsorship reflects the company’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote wellness, unity, and community development through sport.

Nxumalo said the Border2Border Cycling Tour aligns with AlphSZ’s vision of empowering local platforms that create social and economic impact while showcasing Eswatini’s tourism potential.

“This tour speaks to resilience, movement, and national pride. As AlphSZ, we are proud to invest in an initiative that brings people together while promoting healthy living and tourism,” she said.

Organisers welcomed the sponsorship, describing it as a timely intervention that will help improve the overall standard of the event and enhance the experience for cyclists and supporters alike.

They noted that the continued growth in participation and public interest requires stronger financial and logistical support to ensure the smooth running of the tour.

The Border2Border Cycling Tour has continued to position itself as more than just a sporting competition, evolving into a key platform for sports tourism, wellness promotion, and adventure travel in Eswatini.

The event takes cyclists across different parts of the country, giving participants and visitors an opportunity to experience Eswatini’s scenic landscapes, culture, and hospitality.

The Eswatini Tourism Authority also reaffirmed its support for the initiative during the launch.

Speaking on behalf of ETA Chief Executive Officer Vusi Dlamini, Marketing Manager Wakhile Zwane said the authority was proud to once again partner with the Border2Border Cycling Tour for its sixth edition.

He described the event as a premier sports tourism platform that continues to showcase the Kingdom of Eswatini as “A Royal Experience”.

“Border2Border continues to play a significant role in promoting sports tourism while highlighting Eswatini’s breathtaking scenery, warm hospitality, vibrant culture, and unique tourism experiences to the region and beyond,” Zwane said.

He also thanked AlphSZ for its contribution towards the success and growth of the event, while commending organisers and sponsors for their continued commitment to developing cycling and tourism in the country.

With the E100 000 investment now secured, anticipation is building for the June 13, 2026 edition, which is expected to attract wider regional participation and further strengthen Eswatini’s reputation as an emerging sports tourism destination.
