Fromer MTN Eswatini CEO, Wandile Mtshali, has been appointed as the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Khula Group, marking a significant milestone in the company’s evolution as a leading AI and automation consultancy in Eswatini.
Khula Group is an AI and intelligent automation advisory firm focused on enabling intelligent business transformation across Eswatini and the broader African region. The firm works with enterprises, financial institutions, and public sector organizations to modernize operations through automation, advanced analytics, and digital strategy.
The firm specializes in several areas of digital transformation, including intelligent automation for enterprises, process redesign, AI integration strategies, and executive-level advisory services. It also runs a 12-month graduate incubator programme designed to equip emaSwati youth with skills in emerging technologies while promoting youth empowerment through the Khula Foundation.
Mtshali steps into the role with a mandate to accelerate enterprise digital transformation, scale AI adoption, and position Eswatini as a proactive participant in the global digital economy. His appointment reflects Khula Group’s commitment to strengthening institutional credibility, governance excellence, and long-term national impact.
Speaking on his appointment, Mtshali said artificial intelligence is no longer a future consideration but an immediate priority.
“AI and automation are no longer future conversations; they are present-day imperatives,” said Mtshali. “Eswatini must transition from consuming global technologies to building local capability and competitive intelligence. Khula Group exists to enable that transition. We are contributing to business growth and driving a sustainable economy in our Kingdom.”

The Group’s former Managing Partner, now Group Chief Growth Officer (CGO), Arvy Shongwe, will continue to lead brand, growth, and strategic positioning across the Group.
“This appointment signals our maturity as an organization,” Shongwe said. “Wandile brings executive depth, national credibility, and strategic networks that significantly accelerate our mission.”
Group Chief Operating Officer (COO), Sean Ammon, emphasized that the leadership transition strengthens Khula’s ability to execute at scale.
“Bringing Wandile into the role of Group CEO was a strategic decision for the company,” Ammon said. “His leadership experience, combined with Khula’s technical and operational capabilities, positions us to deliver meaningful digital transformation outcomes for businesses and institutions across the region.”
Looking ahead, Khula Group plans to host a series of executive roundtables and “Future-Ready Fridays” discussions designed to bring together C-suite leaders to discuss AI readiness, innovation and digital competitiveness.
