Government Calls on Business Community to ‘Own’ King Mswati III’s 40th Coronation Celebration

The Government of Eswatini has called on the business community to actively participate in the national celebrations marking His Majesty King Mswati III’s 40th anniversary on the throne, positioning the historic milestone as both a moment of national pride and an opportunity for private-sector engagement.

The call was made by the Minister of Home Affairs, Princess Lindiwe, during the official unveiling of the commemorative logo for His Majesty’s 58th birthday and 40th coronation anniversary at the Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister said the 2026 celebrations, scheduled for April 24 in Lobamba, Hhohho Region, mark a significant milestone for the Kingdom, as the King’s birthday coincides with the fourth decade of his reign. She urged businesses to “own the event” and play a visible role in commemorating the achievement.

“The fact that this year’s birthday event coincides with His Majesty’s 40th coronation anniversary indicates that 2026 is a great year for emaSwati,” the Minister said. “Therefore, it is imperative to combine our collective efforts and celebrate this achievement in a spirit of national pride and unity. I therefore invite the entire nation and the business community to own the event and celebrate this great milestone as we showcase our nation’s rich culture and heritage.”

Logo Unveiling

As part of the preparations, the Ministry officially unveiled the commemorative logo, featuring the iconic portrait of His Majesty King Mswati III, widely recognized on the Kingdom’s currency. The design symbolizes continuity, stability and the enduring bond between the King and his people, while reflecting Eswatini’s four-decade journey of resilience, growth and steady progress under His Majesty’s leadership.

The Minister announced that the logo would be available free of charge from the Ministry of Home Affairs Communications Office, a move aimed at promoting inclusive participation by all stakeholders.

She added that the Office would provide stakeholders with guidance on the appropriate use of the logo to ensure quality, uphold ethical standards, and maintain consistency across all celebratory materials.

She stressed that the celebration offers an opportunity for Eswatini to unite as a nation in celebrating the peace and unity that have distinguished His Majesty’s reign for the past 40 years.

“Indeed, this has been a remarkable journey for us as a nation, marked by unwavering hope, collective resilience, combined fortitude, and divine preservation. This occasion also presents us with an opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made together and to reaffirm our dedication to shaping a better tomorrow,” she said.
