The objective of the Eswatini SDG Investor Map is to showcase an investment tool that directs capital to SDG priorities, and government policies, and overlaps with market opportunities.
The joint organizers of the launch state in a notice that Eswatini has ambitions to have a diversified and private sector-led economy, which is why such an engagement is key. “Eswatini has the ambition to become a diversified, private sector-led economy while ensuring economic development, financial stability, growth, and improving the overall quality of life. This cannot be achieved without taking the reins of our development mantle and financing our priorities.
National resource mobilization and increased private sector commitments are vital ingredients. Increased engagement from private investors and enterprises will in turn require fundamental economic reforms to shift away from a state-centric economic model, through the development of new activities highlighting investment opportunity areas with a solid financial return and positive SDG contribution” notes the partners.
