By Tlalane Dlamini

In a strong display of corporate social responsibility and dedication to the well-being of Eswatini’s most vulnerable children, Stefanutti Stocks Construction Eswatini has donated E100,000 to SOS Children’s Villages Eswatini.

The donation will support SOS Children’s Villages’ programs, which currently serve over 500 children in alternative care and an additional 3,800 children through its Family Strengthening Program. Across the country, SOS Children’s Villages offers comprehensive support that includes shelter, education, psychosocial care, family assistance, and community development efforts aimed at keeping families intact and children protected.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Sboniso Nkambule, Principal Secretary in the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, praised Stefanutti Stocks Construction Eswatini for its prompt intervention.

SOS Children’s Villages has been changing lives for over thirty years. Its impact is visible throughout the country. Companies like Stefanutti Stocks Eswatini play a crucial role in shaping and safeguarding the future of Eswatini’s children.

Nkambule highlighted that the government alone cannot fully meet the needs of vulnerable children and urged the private sector to continue collaborating with national child protection stakeholders. He praised the increasing trend of corporate support aimed at childcare and community development.

Representing Stefanutti Stocks Eswatini, Dr. Thandiwe Hlatshwayo, the company’s Director, reaffirmed their dedication to investing in the country’s long-term growth.

We believe supporting children is one of the most meaningful investments an institution can make. Children are future leaders, innovators, and nation builders. Our donation to SOS Children’s Villages reflects our belief in uplifting communities and giving every child a chance to thrive.

Dr. Hlatshwayo stated that the construction industry is essential for national growth and that Stefanutti Stocks concentrates on initiatives that create lasting social benefits, especially in education and child welfare.

The National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Eswatini, Andile Phindile Nhleko-Makama, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation and the growing corporate support for children’s programs.

“No child should grow up alone, and no child should be deprived of love, security, or support. We thank Stefanutti Stocks Eswatini for standing with us. We remain committed to working closely with government, partners, and communities to ensure every child is raised in a caring environment.”

A Wave of Corporate Support Across Eswatini

Stefanutti Stocks Eswatini’s donation coincides with a growing trend of corporate support for vulnerable children. Recently, on November 22, 2025, FNB Eswatini CEO Thokozani Dlamini announced that the FNB Eswatini Foundation has pledged E500,000 to SOS Children’s Villages for the Child-Headed Households (CHH) Project.

The CHH program is designed to support some of the most vulnerable groups in society: children who have lost both parents and are forced to act as heads of their households. Across the country, 180 orphaned and vulnerable children benefit from this program, receiving support such as food, education assistance, psychosocial care, safe shelter, and life-skills development.

According to CEO Thokozani Dlamini, FNB Eswatini is committed to uplifting communities through strategic investments that target real societal challenges.

“Supporting child-headed households is more than a charitable act; it is a moral duty. These children merit dignity, protection, and equal opportunities. The FNB Foundation is proud to partner with SOS Children’s Villages to ensure that no child is left behind,” he stated.

The combined support from Stefanutti Stocks Eswatini and FNB Eswatini reflects a growing recognition within the private sector that child welfare is a national priority.

A Shared Vision for a Better Future

SOS Children’s Villages Eswatini has, over the past three decades, positioned itself as a key player in the child protection and alternative care sector. Through its residential care, family strengthening initiatives, youth empowerment programmes, and community-based interventions, the organisation continues to uphold its vision that every child belongs to a family and grows with love, respect, and security.

“This is more than financial support—it is a message of hope to every child in our care,” said Nhleko-Makama. “It tells them that they matter, that they are seen, and that their future is important to this country.”

With corporate organisations stepping forward and national stakeholders strengthening collaborations, Eswatini is witnessing a renewed commitment to protecting and empowering its youngest citizens.
