Registration Now Open for Business Eswatini’s 11th Annual Labour Law Seminar

In a commitment to foster a deeper understanding of labour laws and to promote informed change and equitable workplaces, Business Eswatini (BE) will soon be hosting its 11th Annual Labour Law Seminar under the theme “Embracing Change in the Workplace.”

This anticipated event promises to provide a comprehensive discussion of crucial labour-related issues in the kingdom, with a key focus on Collective Bargaining. The Seminar will interrogate organizational rights in the workplace and other bargaining forums; and further evaluate the interplay of minimum wage and collective bargaining.

In a press release, the business organization notes that the seminar will draw professionals such as business leaders and trade unions, human capital practitioners, labour market experts, legal minds, industry experts and policymakers from across the country.

The 11th edition of the seminar aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, fostering a conducive environment for healthy employer-employee relationships and promoting fair labour practices.

BE further discloses that the seminar will have a particular focus on topics such as an evaluation of the Eswatini collective bargaining framework; constructive, meaningful and informed negotiation; strikes and lock out as well as the effectiveness of NEDLAC as a social dialogue forum-lessons for Eswatini.

In addition, BE notes that the seminar will also look at the national minimum wage debate where there will be an update of what employers have been working on so far, which will entail discussions on progress and the next steps. Another focus will be the Labour Law updates 2024 Legislation and Case Law.
