In a continued display of support for Eswatini’s emerging arts scene, Old Mutual Eswatini has allocated E60,000 to the Ntjilo Ntjilo Music Festival, a growing platform that discovers and develops young talent across the country.
The donation, handed over during a brief ceremony at the Old Mutual head office, represented more than just financial support; it symbolized renewed faith in the creative potential of Eswatini’s youth. With increasing interest from both rural and urban communities, the festival has become a lifeline for aspiring artists aiming to turn passion into purpose.
During the cheque handover ceremony, Ntjilo Ntjilo, Director Mathokoza Sibiya, stated that the festival extends beyond entertainment; it serves as a vehicle to help young people convert their talents into income-generating opportunities amid rising unemployment.
“If Ntjilo Ntjilo had more funding, we would expand into recording, packaging, and marketing these talents,” he said. “This festival proves that talent can work for you. With the right platform, young people can earn a livelihood.”
Sibiya commended Old Mutual for its continued support since last year, when it donated E38,000. “We’re grateful that Old Mutual recognizes our vision and keeps supporting it. We aim to grow this festival to reach all corners of Eswatini,” he added.
Old Mutual’s Banomile Hlatshwayo emphasized that the company’s mission is to create community impact through such partnerships.

“We are dedicated to empowering communities, fostering talent, and creating sustainable opportunities,” she said. “This festival is a beacon of hope for many young artists. It not only nurtures talent but also generates jobs and promotes unity within the country.”
Now in its 10th year, the Ntjilo Ntjilo Music Arts Festival continues to attract passionate youth from grassroots communities, featuring competitions that showcase raw talent. According to Sibiya, participants compete as if they are fighting for a million because their lives depend on it.
