MTN Enterprise Business Unit Reflects on its Early Days

MTN Eswatini has celebrated the achievements and outlined plans of its Enterprise Business Unit (EBU) department,

The Unit provides comprehensive connectivity solutions to its business customers.

The celebration took place yesterday during MTN Eswatini’s end-of-year luncheon for its high-value customers held at The Royal Villas, at eZulwini

The event featured speeches from MTN EBU’s Senior Manager of Enterprise Business Wandile Dlamini, and Wandile Mtshali, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Eswatini.

Both speakers highlighted the remarkable journey that the EBU department has undertaken since its inception in 2012 and the transformations, challenges, and milestones that have shaped the department.

Dlamini revealed that the EBU department was born in 2012, with a clear focus on the sale of mobile voice, data, and telemetry services. He said that the department has undergone several transformations, including the formation of MTN Business as a standalone division in 2013, the reorganization of EBU in alignment with the MTN Bright strategy in 2017, and the launch of a Center of Excellence driven by solution-focused sales in 2020.

“The year 2013 marked a significant turning point with the inception of MTN Business as a standalone division, signaling a strategic shift in our approach to enterprise solutions. It was during this time that the EBU standalone strategy was developed, setting the stage for the remarkable developments that would follow.”

“In 2014, MTN GEBU was formed to govern the overall EBU strategy, bringing a new level of cohesion and direction to our department. The formation of EBU South Africa in 2015 further solidified our presence in the market and underscored our commitment to delivering exceptional services to our clients.”

He added that the year 2017 brought about a pivotal moment with the arrival of Oliver Fortune, who joined MTN Group as an Executive and spearheaded the reorganization of EBU in alignment with the MTN Bright strategy.

“In 2020, we marked a significant milestone with the launch of a Center of Excellence driven by solution-focused sales, underscoring our dedication to innovation and customer-centric solutions. This initiative positioned us as a leader in delivering tailored, impactful solutions to our clients,” he said.

Dlamini noted that the department has been delivering tailored, impactful solutions to its customers, addressing their challenges and unlocking their potential.

On another note, Mtshali congratulated the department on its achievements and stated that the department is excited about the possibilities and opportunities that the 5G network and the digital economy offer. He said that the department is ready to face the challenges and embrace the changes that the 5G era brings.

He said that the EBU department has been providing comprehensive connectivity solutions to its customers, leveraging the 5G network and other cutting-edge technologies.
