In an effort to reward as many customers as possible, MTN Eswatini has launched the 90-day Idubukele promotion. This initiative gives customers the chance to win a share of E1.5 million simply by purchasing data valued at E25.
Once a customer purchases E25 worth of data, they will also receive an additional 1GB of free data, valid for 24 hours, and will be automatically entered into a weekly draw where they can win a monthly grand prize of E200,000.
The promotion was unveiled on Friday at the MTN Eswatini headquarters in Ezulwini. MTN Eswatini Chief Executive Officer, Wandile Mtshali, emphasized that the Idubukele promotion is not just about a few big winners, but about sharing and celebrating with as many customers as possible.
“The Idubukele promotion embodies the spirit of abundance and generosity. With more than E1.5 million in prizes, we are showing our customers that we value their loyalty. This promotion is not just about a lucky few; it’s about ensuring many can share in this abundance. The promotion includes a monthly grand prize of E200,000 and weekly prizes ranging from E500 to E20,000, demonstrating MTN’s commitment to customer engagement and appreciation. Aligning with our Doing4U strategy, the Idubukele promotion provides more value for our customers, allowing them to feel appreciated,” he said.
Mtshali added that MTN Eswatini will be holding exciting customer engagement initiatives to allow members of the public to further participate in the Idubukele promotion throughout the festive season.
“The Idubukele roadshows will be held across the country, featuring interactive games like the Idubukele puzzle, darts, grab a phone, spin and win, and more. These activities aim to foster direct interaction with customers and show appreciation for their loyalty. Additionally, MTN Eswatini will partner with EBIS and Eswatini TV to broadcast some of the prize presentations live, ensuring that a broader audience can witness the excitement and joy of the winners. This transparency reinforces that real people are benefiting from the Idubukele promotion,” he added.
The Chief Marketing Officer at MTN Eswatini, Ruhinguka Desire, echoed the sentiment of abundance embedded in the Idubukele campaign.
“The term Idubukele captures the essence of this campaign—there’s more than enough for everyone to win. This is not just a one-time opportunity for a select few; it’s a chance for many to share in something special,” he said.
Reflecting on previous successful promotions, Desire noted that the Wina Manje promotion had transformed the lives of many customers through cash prizes that empowered them to pursue their dreams and uplift their families.
Meanwhile, Senior Consumer Manager at MTN Eswatini, Meshack Maseko, outlined how customers can participate.
“To enter the promotion, customers need to purchase data worth E25. Upon doing so, they will receive 1GB of free data for 24 hours and will automatically be entered into a weekly cash prize draw where they can win anything from E500 to the monthly grand prize of E200 000. Additionally, we understand that not everyone can afford to buy data worth E25 at one go, so for these individuals, we will allow them to purchase their regular amounts of data until their purchases reach E25, thus entering them into the weekly prize draw. Furthermore, MTN will award E10,000 to ten lucky winners every month, and the promotion also features a monthly grand prize of E200,000 for one lucky customer, as well as a special grand promotion winner of E500,000. We will also be hosting roadshows and I urge customers to attend, as they can win cash prizes and a trolley dash worth E3,000,” he concluded.
