MTN Eswatini has officially launched MTN Bonanza 2.0. The launch took place at the MTN Headquarters on Wednesday.

This competition has been described as an impactful one by many people who have participated in it in that they have utilized the money to improve their lives and to start up small businesses.

The competition started in 2021 as Smagamaga and evolved to Bonanza 1.0 and now Bonanza 2.0.

MTN Eswatini Acting Chief Marketing Officer Cebisa Hlatshwayo unveiled the new promotion and disclosed that it was done in partnership with Eswatini Air.

Hlatshwayo noted that Bonanza 2.0 comes with quiz games and an additional weekly prize of two round air trips to Johannesburg, South Africa, for the winner and a partner of their choice.

The competition with the new feature started on July 1, 2023, where players will still sign up by sending ‘JOIN’ to 7080. It is still open to people aged 18 and above.

The one-day air trip is a weekly prize that will be accompanied by a E4 000 voucher which the winner and their partner will use while in SA.

He said the logic behind this prize was to take customers through a breathtaking experience.

“We want to try and give our customers a new experience that some have never had,” he said.

Eswatini Air Marketing and Communications Manager Batsabile Nkambule expressed gratitude at MTN for choosing them as a partner.

“Thank you MTN for identifying us as a strategic partner in this prestigious promotion. Imagine flying on Africa’s newest airline just by playing a Bonanza game,” she said.

Nkambule made an undertaking that they would give the winners the best experience ever, something they would leave to the winner to tell.

Explaining the new twist, Value-Added Service (VAS) Coordinator Lindokuhle Mamba said, “For new players of the Bonanza game, on the first-day people are given a set of questions for free. The more questions one answers, the more points they collect.”

She said questions cost E2 from the second day going forward, adding that customers had the option to send ‘MORE’ to 7080 40 times to get more questions.

Mamba said in order to gain more points without answering questions, one has to send ‘GO’ a hundred times.

The MTN Acting Chief Marketing Officer also disclosed that more than 40 000 customers have shared prize money worth E3 million over the years.
