Mphumzeni Lukhele to Represent MTN Eswatini at Telecom Casablanca Connect 2024

Mphumzeni Lukhele, the Head of Internal Audit and Forensics Services (IAFS) at MTN Eswatini, is set to raise both the company’s and the nation’s flag even higher as he heads to Morocco to speak at the prestigious Telecom Casablanca Connect 2024: Telecom Africa Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management (RAFM) Summit. 

The conference gathers industry leaders from across the continent and is scheduled to take place on September 12 -13, 2024, at the Marriott Hotel in Casablanca.

Lukhele, recognized for his expertise and leadership in the telecom industry, has been invited to contribute his insights on several critical topics. He has been invited to tackle amongst other topics:

  • Effective Governance Towards Fraud in Telecoms – Key Presentation.
  • Telecom Fraud Fighting: Strategies and Best Practices – Panelist.
  • Regulatory Measures and Their Effectiveness in Telecom Fraud Mitigation – Panelist.
  • Robust Collaboration of CISO and RAFM Roles in Modern Organizations – Panelist.
  • Effective Enterprise Risk Management and Finance & Reporting Assurance – Panelist.

Worth mentioning is that he was also one of the speakers in the same event which was held in 2023 in Sandton, South Africa. The event attracts thousands of participants across Africa and the rest of the world. 

Lukhele brings over 14 years of professional experience, with more than a decade dedicated to the telecom sector. His qualifications include numerous certifications in internal audit, fraud examination, and forensic services, as well as an undergraduate degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting. 

Lukhele holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Forensic Investigations and Accounting. Lukhele began his career at KPMG Eswatini (now SNG) and later joined MTN Eswatini. His international experience includes an assignment in Dubai with the Bayobab Group, where he established the Internal Audit and Forensics Services function to support the group’s operations across various countries.

Reflecting on his upcoming participation, Lukhele expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to contribute to the continent’s growth. 

“As Bill Gates stated, power comes not from knowledge kept but from knowledge shared. It is a huge privilege to be chosen to share knowledge with fellow Africans and contribute in some way to a much-needed cause on the continent. I am confident that the best practices and insights gained from this significant gathering will benefit both private and public companies, as well as the continent and our country at large,” he said.
