LGF Announces 2nd Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini Leadership Memorial Lecture

The Leadership Growth Forum (LGF) has announced the second edition of the Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini Leadership Memorial Lecture, set to take place on March 28, 2025, at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Commerce Lecture Hall, Kwaluseni Campus, Matsapha.

The event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM and is free and open to the public. The annual lecture serves as a platform for fostering leadership excellence and honoring the legacy of Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini, a visionary corporate leader who transitioned into public service.

This year’s theme, “The Power of Intentionality in Building Future Leaders,” highlights the importance of deliberate action in leadership development. It calls on aspiring and established leaders to cultivate purpose-driven strategies that drive meaningful change.

The theme also resonates deeply with those who knew and admired Dlamini, as well as those who may not have known him personally but are eager to understand the essence of intentional leadership.

Reflecting on Dlamini’s leadership legacy, Lungile Nxumalo, an executive who worked closely with him, remarked, “He was not the position himself; he was a person leading.” These words encapsulate the essence of Dlamini’s approach to leadership—one that prioritized people over titles and impact over authority.

The keynote speaker for this year’s lecture is Mpho Makwana, a distinguished leader with extensive corporate experience. Having served as Chairman of Eskom and the Nedbank Boards in South Africa, and currently holding leadership positions as Chair of Epitome Private Equity Fund Managers, Epitome Investments, and Epitome Archetypes, Makwana brings a wealth of knowledge and insight on leadership, governance, and social impact.

Makwana is also a panelist for the Centre for Global Inclusion’s Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmark Report, and volunteers as a Trustee on the Board of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund as well as a Board Director of FLG Modise Pentecost Foundation.

His address is expected to provide invaluable perspectives on how leaders can harness intentionality to shape the future.

According to LGF Media and Public Liaison Officer, Phiwe Dlamini, the event is more than just a tribute; it is an opportunity to inspire and equip future leaders.

“This memorial lecture is a space for learning, networking, and engaging with leadership principles that shape nations. By sharing insights from seasoned leaders, we aim to cultivate a culture of intentional leadership that transforms both individuals and communities,” he explained.

Attendees can look forward to an evening of thought-provoking discussions, networking opportunities with industry professionals, and practical strategies for building a successful leadership journey.
