It’s All Systems Go for ERS & EPTC Partnership!

Eswatini citizens can now pay for a wide range of government services at their nearest post office following the launch of a new partnership between the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) and the Eswatini Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC).

The initiative, which officially began today (October 20), marks a major step in the government’s efforts to modernise and decentralise service delivery across the country.

The new system allows payments for services from ministries such as the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Public Works and Transport to be made not only at Government Revenue Offices but also at 16 post offices across all four regions.

This rollout is the first phase of a nationwide expansion that will eventually cover all 35 post offices under EPTC.

The services can be accessed in all four regions of Eswatini as follows:

Hhohho: Mbabane, Swazi Plaza, Lobamba, Piggs Peak

Manzini: Manzini, Matsapha, Malkerns, Mankayane

Shiselweni: Hlatikhulu, Nhlangano, Hluthi

Lubombo: Simunye, Siteki, Tshaneni, Siphofaneni, Matata

From these locations, citizens can process and pay for the following services:

Ministry of Commerce Industry & Trade: Trading and liquor licences, company registration

• Ministry of Home Affairs: Birth, marriage, and death certificates, passports, travel documents, national IDs, permits, and visas

• Ministry of Public Works and Transport: Drivers’ licences, professional driving permits, vehicle registration and renewal, change of ownership, engine number changes, vehicle cancellations and many more.

A Partnership Rooted in Service and Accessibility

At the launch event, EPTC Acting Managing Director Lungile Nxumalo described the collaboration as a proud moment for Eswatini Post, reflecting the organisation’s mission to bring essential services closer to the people.

“This partnership embodies what Eswatini Post stands for, ensuring that no Liswati is left behind in accessing key services,” she said.

With over 30 post offices nationwide, Eswatini Post has evolved from a mail and parcel service to a versatile hub offering money transfers, utility payments, and insurance collections. This partnership expands citizens’ access to government revenue services through its network.

For ERS, the partnership with EPTC aligns with the transformation agenda. ERS Commissioner General, Brightwell Nkambule, noted that this collaboration is part of implementing the Second Schedule of the Revenue Act of 2008, which consolidates revenue collection under ERS while allowing line ministries to retain administrative functions.

“Today, we will begin with 16 strategically located post offices, with additional sites phased in progressively,” said Nkambule. “This is a game-changer for citizens, expanding access and reducing travel time and costs.”

This initiative marks Phase II of the Revenue Takeover, following Phase I in April 2024, where ERS began collecting trading licence and company registration fees. With Phase II, the transfer of remaining revenue laws from the Ministry of Finance’s Treasury Department to ERS is now complete, centralising and modernising revenue collection.

Technology, Trust, and Transformation

The partnership comes as ERS undergoes significant digital transformation, investing in automation and customer experience. Between March 2022 and March 2025, its Net Promoter Score (NPS) rose from 6.7% to an impressive 77%.

ERS will continue tracking customer feedback to maintain accountability and improve services.

For rural communities, the ability to make payments at nearby post offices saves time and money. For the Government, this partnership enhances compliance, improves revenue collection efficiency, and supports Eswatini’s digital government goals.
