An exciting collaboration between Eswatini and Israel presents a seminar for tech-savvy young entrepreneurs in Eswatini that will empower them with the tools and knowledge to allow them to kick off their start-up with as little as E1700 (One hundred dollars – $100).
Starting from Monday 6th – 10th February 2023, Dr. Ron Adany, a serial entrepreneur from Israel, will facilitate a five-day seminar on “How to build a start-up with $100”.
“We are looking for the best of the best. The most talented, innovative youth, who dream big and have the basic knowledge and tools to make their dreams a reality,” says Dr. Adany.
Dr. Adany has over 14 years of experience in start-ups foundation & management, business development, and software research & development.
A start-up is a company or project undertaken by an entrepreneur to seek, develop, and validate a scalable business model. While entrepreneurship refers to all new businesses, including self-employment and businesses that never intend to become registered. Start-ups refer to new companies that intend to grow large beyond the solo founder. Initially, start-ups face high uncertainty and have high rates of failure, but a number of them go on to be successful and influential.
The 35 most talented, motivated, and promising young entrepreneurs from Eswatini, will gain practical knowledge – on how to build a start-up from the ground up . Using new and innovative solutions, the seminar brings a unique opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and techniques to build start-ups with minimal funds (bootstrapping) in a quick way.
Dr. Ron Adany will lead the workshop on-site, with the support of several remote lecturers from Israel who will join via Zoom. This unique blend of in-person and online instruction will provide a comprehensive learning experience for participants.
For Ron, this workshop is a dream come true as he has always been passionate about assisting aspiring entrepreneurs in succeeding, in particular, assisting talented African entrepreneurs to build their start-ups.
According to one of the seminar’s organizers, Yael Uzan-Tidhar, from Likusasa Letfu, “We are looking for young adults aged between 18 and 35 years, male and female alike. We are considering candidates with a high knowledge of ICT, preferably having a degree or similar in ICT, or at the very least, proof that they know their way around the ICT world. Start-ups should have an innovative solution for a problem or a need. While they may not have the resources or tools, entrepreneurs must have an idea of how to implement their solution using high-tech and innovation.”
The Lutfo Dlamini Foundation has collaborated with Dr. Adany to establish the Eswatini-Israeli Partnership resulting in the hosting of the seminar. The seminar’s other partners include The Tum’s Water World Hotel (seminar host venue), Jenny Internet (technical support), and Likusasa Letfu Youth Centre for Employability (logistical support).
Seminar participants are required to have their own laptop and they should be in apposition to pay the participating fees of E2500 and an initial capital of E1700 to build their start-up.
The workshop will take place at Tum’s Water World Hotel in Sidvokodvo. Participants have the option to stay at the hotel for 4-nights, included in the participation fee.
