Eswatini Bank has announced its sponsorship of E150,000 for the 2024 Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF), emphasizing the bank’s commitment to fostering economic growth and supporting local businesses.
The sponsorship package includes a mobile kitchen worth E50,000, which will be awarded to the best vendor at the fair as part of efforts to promote the inclusivity of women and youth in business.
Speaking at the sponsorship announcement, Eswatini Bank’s representative, Melody Magagula, expressed the bank’s enthusiasm for being part of the annual event, which is set to take place from August 30 to September 8, 2024.
She highlighted the significance of the Trade Fair in being a catalyst for economic development that extends beyond the borders of Eswatini.
“The Trade Fair is an economic road catalyst that carries significance that stretches far beyond our borders and puts our country and businesses on the international map. It creates a platform to exchange business views and visions that come to take our economy forward,” Magagula said.
She further noted that the bank appreciates the value and return on investment that comes from its participation in the EITF, stating that Eswatini Bank is excited to play a role in the event.
The bank’s contribution also aligns with its broader objective of empowering local entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth, who are essential to the kingdom’s economic future.
The mobile kitchen, which is a part of the sponsorship package, will be monitored for a year by the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), to ensure its effective operation and impact on the selected vendor.
Eswatini Bank states that the initiative is designed to encourage more businesses to participate in the Trade Fair, thereby fostering an environment of active dialogue, business relationship building, and strengthened regional cooperation and trade.
The 2024 EITF, which operates under the theme “Accelerating Business Growth through Digital Transformation,” is anticipated to draw significant local and international interest. Eswatini Bank’s sponsorship, particularly the inclusion of the mobile kitchen award, is expected to enhance the fair’s impact, making it more inclusive and beneficial for a broader range of participants.
