ERS Bids Farewell to Commissioner of Domestic Taxes, Vusi Ngcamphalala

The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) has announced the departure of its Commissioner of Domestic Taxes, Vusi Ngcamphalala, marking the end of a tenure that saw significant progress in revenue management and digital transformation.

Ngcamphalala, who initially joined ERS in 2012 as Financial Controller, came back in 2022 to serve as the Commissioner for Domestic Taxes. During his time, ERS achieved notable improvements in voluntary tax compliance and sped up the adoption of digital platforms to boost efficiency in revenue collection.

ERS Commissioner General, Brightwell Nkambule, paid tribute to his contributions, describing him as a dedicated leader whose impact will be felt for a long time.

“Vusi has made a meaningful and lasting contribution to ERS and the country. Under his leadership, we improved voluntary compliance and advanced our digital capabilities to support better service and sustainable revenue results. We are grateful for his commitment and professionalism, and we wish him every success in his new role,” Nkambule said.

The ERS further confirmed that Riccardo Kruger, Director for Client Services, has been appointed Acting Commissioner for Domestic Taxes with immediate effect.

Ngcamphalala leaves a legacy of strengthened systems, innovation, and a renewed focus on building trust with taxpayers. His departure marks a transition point for ERS as it continues its reforms aimed at sustainable revenue mobilization and improved client services.
