EIPA Partners With ITC To Promote Exports To The EU

The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) has partnered with the International Trade Centre (ITC), with support from the EU, to produce an educational video on the European Union – Southern African Development Community Economic Partnership Agreement (EU-SADC EPA).

The video is aimed at raising awareness about the export market opportunities available to Eswatini businesses under the EU-SADC Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

Speaking on the initiative, Thandeka Dlamini, Manager of External Trade Promotion at EIPA, said, “EIPA’s mandate is to attract, promote, encourage, and facilitate local and foreign direct investment and trade in Eswatini for economic development. Such materials as this educational video allow us to make trade-related information, specifically on export markets, more widespread amongst our entrepreneurial audiences.”

Dlamini emphasized that the video is not merely an informational tool but a “call to action” for local businesses to tap into international markets.

“It showcases impact stories and benefits of the preferential market access accorded by the EU-SADC EPA, demonstrating that with the right support and knowledge, our businesses can thrive in international markets,” she said.

The video has been presented in a 60-second, 2-minute, and 9-minute format. The 60-second video is available on EIPA’s Facebook and Instagram pages for viewers to watch. The longer 2-minute and 9-minute videos can be accessed through https://0fj.cc/dmlPnyOc6l0.

“EIPA would like to encourage businesses around Eswatini to watch the video relating to the EU-SADC EPA and see how their businesses can prepare to expand their exports to the European Union. The EU-SADC EPA is a gateway to a market of 27 member states with a combined population of about 450 million people, and we want more of our SMEs to take advantage of it,” Dlamini concluded.
