EIPA Launches 2025 Export Guide

The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) has officially launched the Export Guide 2025, a comprehensive resource designed to simplify the export journey for Eswatini businesses and open doors to international markets.

As global trade grows more competitive and interconnected, the Export Guide 2025 equips local businesses with practical, step-by-step guidance on how to begin or scale their export operations, from assessing readiness to securing customs clearance and entering foreign markets.

EIPA’s Manager of External Trade Promotion, Thandeka Dlamini, emphasized that the guide is a strategic tool to support the growth of Eswatini’s private sector through exports.

“Exporting can unlock immense growth opportunities for local enterprises,” she said. “With the Export Guide 2025, we aim to demystify the export process and empower Eswatini businesses-large and small-to compete and succeed in global markets.”

The guide breaks down the export process into 10 summarized steps:

1. Assess Export Readiness

2. Conduct Market Research

3. Develop an Export Plan

4. Obtain Required Export Documents

5. Consider Shipping & Logistics

6. Determine Export Pricing

7. Explore Export Finance

8. Obtain Customs Clearance

9. Mitigate Potential Issues

10. Start Exporting

The guide highlights Eswatini’s access to over a dozen global and regional trade agreements, including SACU, SADC, COMESA, AfCFTA, AGOA, and EU Economic Partnership Agreements, giving Eswatini goods preferential or duty-free access to key international markets with a combined population of over 2 billion people.

The guide also points to critical business support services available through EIPA, including:

• Export readiness training

• Market research tools and intelligence

• Access to trade shows and B2B networking events

• Information related to preferential access, standards, customs, logistics, and finance agencies

• Resources for protecting intellectual property and navigating international regulations
