CBE Conference Facility 98% Complete

The conference facility at the Central Bank of Eswatini’s (CBE) new headquarters complex in Ezulwini is nearing completion, with construction now at approximately 98.3%. The conference facility has already hosted its inaugural event, the 6th SADC RTGS User Group Conference.

This was revealed by the CBE Governor, Dr. Phil Mnisi, when making his opening remarks at the 6th SADC RTGS User Group Conference.

The facility forms part of the CBE’s broader state-of-the-art headquarters project and comprises three modern units, each with seating for 300 delegates.

The units allow three major meetings to run simultaneously. The units open into an almost 1,200-seater hall, providing one of the region’s most versatile conference spaces.

In his remarks, the Governor welcomed delegates from across the SADC region to the facility, highlighting its modern design and functionality.

“As the Central Bank of Eswatini, we are proud to be your hosts, and you are the very first to be hosted in our brand-new conference facility,” he said.

He praised the remarkable pace of construction. “Some of you would not believe the speed at which this facility has been built. Construction started in November last year, and despite the rains causing delays in January and February, the facility is now probably 98.3% complete,” he said.

The headquarters project is designed with forward-thinking, integrating sustainability principles in its architecture. It will feature embedded green technologies aimed at reducing the environmental footprint, improving energy efficiency, and promoting responsible resource use, in line with global environmental standards.

“This project not only supports economic modernization but it sets a benchmark for smart, eco-conscious infrastructure in the Kingdom of Eswatini,” Dr. Mnisi said
