In a bold move to expand its global footprint, African Alliance, a diversified financial and investment group, is targeting Europe through its subsidiary, Alliance Foods, which operates KFC outlets.
This strategic initiative was revealed by S’thofeni Ginindza, Partner at African Alliance, during the Revenue Blueprint Masterclass hosted by A Peculiar People, held at the Eswatini Revenue Services auditorium.
With an established presence in Southern Africa, African Alliance currently runs 11 KFC outlets in Eswatini and has acquired 45 outlets in South Africa. As the company aims for further growth, Ginindza shared that the next step is a major expansion into Europe by acquiring KFC franchises in Europe.
“Who said when you create a business, it should only cater to Eswatini,” Ginindza posed during his address. “When we create businesses, we must think globally – for the European Union (EU), for the Southern African Development Community (SADC), and the entire world.”
KFC, a flagship brand of Alliance Foods, has been instrumental in helping African Alliance diversify its portfolio. The company is determined to replicate its success in Eswatini and South Africa in new international markets, particularly in Europe, where it can compete with established global fast-food chains.
The presentation at the Revenue Blueprint Masterclass delved into the broader philosophy of entrepreneurship, stressing the importance of ambition and vision. Ginindza encouraged attendees to dream big and focus on practical and measurable resolutions, offering a mix of financial, social, and personal growth goals for the year.
“In business, you don’t have to be an A-plus student. Passion, ethics, and hunger to get things done are what truly matter,” Ginindza remarked. He emphasized the importance of having the right mindset, particularly in terms of funding.
“Do not be afraid to raise money. Every successful business grows by seeking out the right financial backing.”
Ginindza also touched on the changing nature of entrepreneurship, noting a shift from IQ (Intelligence Quotient) to EQ (Emotional Intelligence) as a key factor for success. He reflected on how businesses thrive when driven by passion, resilience, and a willingness to innovate.
The expansion of KFC into Europe is a testament to the African Alliance’s ambition to elevate its operations beyond the African continent. Ginindza’s call to action at the Masterclass was clear: entrepreneurs must be bold and embrace new opportunities, regardless of geographical limitations.
African Alliance is a leading financial and business group based in Eswatini, with diversified interests across sectors, including real estate, microfinance, and food services. The group has been instrumental in various large-scale investments, including the development of Malkerns Square and Matsapha Link.
