In a significant move to bolster financial literacy and reward customer loyalty, the Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) has concluded its 2025 “Client Celebration Campaign.” The initiative, which ran from October through December, culminated in a high-profile prize presentation in which 10 loyal clients received school fee vouchers valued at E5 000 each.
The campaign, with prizes totaling E100 000.00, was designed to celebrate the partnership between the nation’s leading insurer and its policyholders. In addition to the final school fee vouchers, 20 other winners from October and November each received grocery vouchers worth E2 500.
Empowering Emaswati through Education
Musa Simelane, ESRIC’s Assistant General Manager for Corporate Services, spoke about bridging the national financial security gap by challenging the notion that insurance is only for the wealthy. He acknowledged that perceived high costs often alienate the public and called for a shift in perspective, reframing insurance not as a luxury but as an affordable necessity for all citizens.

He highlighted a common irony in consumer behavior. “While many individuals are willing to spend hundreds of Emalangeni per month on entertainment and lifestyle luxuries, they often hesitate to protect assets worth hundreds of thousands.”
Simelane urged Emaswati to seek accurate information rather than rely on assumptions, noting that coverage for items such as mobile phones, cars, or homes is often far more affordable than most people realize.
Driving Digital Transformation
The 2025 campaign also accelerated ESRIC’s digital evolution. To qualify for the prizes, clients had to ensure their policy payments and “Know Your Customer” (KYC) details were up to date while using the ESRIC Mobile App.

The criteria for entry included:
• Updating KYC details to ensure records are current.
• Making policy payments and applying for loans digitally.
• Providing feedback and requesting call-backs through the platform.
• Downloading the app to streamline service delivery.
Simelane revealed that the app, which launched in 2014, now serves over 15,000 users.
A Legacy of Security
As ESRIC celebrates over 50 years of service, the corporation remains the leading provider of Life and Non-Life insurance in Eswatini. The recent campaign underscores its mission to move beyond simple transactions and foster a culture of responsible financial behavior.
