Standard Bank Eswatini Rewards 12 Winners in Tap and Win Competition

By Ayanda Dlamini

Standard Bank Eswatini has continued to reward its customers through its ongoing Tap and Win competition, handing prizes to 12 lucky winners at a celebratory event held at the bank’s head offices in Mbabane today.

The prizes form part of the overall E850 000 prize pool set aside for the campaign, which aims to encourage safer, cashless transactions during the festive season and beyond.

The competition commenced in October 2025, and rewards customers who use their Standard Bank cards to make tap-and-go payments.

Winners stand a chance to walk away with a range of exciting prizes, including travel getaways, home appliances, gadgets, and shopping vouchers.

The campaign is scheduled to run until 31 January 2026, giving customers ample opportunity to participate.

Speaking at the prize handover, Standard Bank Head of Brand and Marketing, Sanele Khumalo, said the Tap and Win initiative was designed to promote convenience and security, especially during the busy festive period when the risk of carrying cash is higher.

“This initiative is essentially about protecting our customers from the risks associated with carrying cash. We are encouraging them to simply tap when making payments. It is safer, quicker and more convenient,” Khumalo said.

“At the same time, we are rewarding them for choosing digital and card-based transactions.”

She added that the positive response from customers since the launch of the competition has been encouraging, with more people embracing cashless payment methods across retail outlets.

Among the delighted winners was Khanyisile Matsenjwa, who walked away with a bar fridge. Matsenjwa expressed her excitement and gratitude, saying the prize would come in handy during the festive season.

“I am very happy about this win. The bar fridge will be very useful, especially during the holidays when we have family gatherings,” she said. “I will definitely continue tapping when I go shopping.”

Another jubilant winner, Mary Anne, won a 75-inch Hisense Smart TV, a prize she initially found hard to believe. She said she thought the notification was a joke until it was confirmed by the bank.

“At first, I really thought this was not real. I could not believe it,” she said with a smile. “This TV will make my children very happy, and I am extremely grateful to Standard Bank.”

The bank emphasised that customers do not need to enter separately to participate in the competition, as every tap transaction automatically qualifies them for a chance to win. The more customers tap, the higher their chances of being selected as winners.

Standard Bank Eswatini has urged its customers to continue using their cards for everyday purchases, including groceries, fuel and other essentials, as the Tap and Win campaign progresses toward its January 2026 conclusion.

With more prizes still up for grabs, the bank says many more customers can look forward to celebrating wins while enjoying the safety and convenience of cashless payments.
