In a major boost for Eswatini’s education and labor sectors, Pick n Pay Eswatini, under the Lojaf Group, has pledged E300,000 to the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) for the 2025 Teachers’ Day celebration.
The announcement, made by S’thofeni Ginindza, Partner at African Alliance, marks an important milestone in strengthening ties between businesses and education, showing corporate confidence in the crucial role of the country’s teachers.
The celebration will take place on October 24, 2025, at the Mavuso Exhibition Centre in Manzini, with the theme “Recognizing Dedication, Inspiring Growth.” It will be a lively day of reflection, cultural expression, and entertainment.
A Partnership Built on Respect
SNAT President Mbongwa Dlamini expressed heartfelt thanks to Pick n Pay Eswatini for increasing its sponsorship from E100,000 in 2024 to E300,000 this year. He described the relationship as one based on respect and shared goals.
“Our partnership has grown stronger because Pick n Pay understands that we are a union, not a political group. Their recognition of our professionalism has boosted this collaboration,” Dlamini said.
He added that the increase is more than just financial support; it’s a sign of trust in educators as vital drivers of national progress, social change, and youth empowerment.
Representing Pick n Pay, S’thofeni Ginindza highlighted that the retailer’s growing support reflects its aim to create lasting community impact:
“This partnership continues to grow because it’s built on shared values: community, empowerment, and impact. Our aim is not just to fund events but to foster a culture that celebrates excellence and dedication. Investing in teachers is investing in Eswatini’s future,” he said.
Mario Fernandes: “Lojaf Pick n Pay Eswatini CEO Mario Fernandes reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to supporting national development through education.
“Teachers are at the heart of every nation’s progress. Their work shapes future leaders and innovators. At Pick n Pay Eswatini, we believe recognizing their dedication is not only a moral obligation but an investment in Eswatini’s future,” Fernandes said.
He added that the increased contribution is a deliberate effort to raise the level and quality of this year’s celebration, especially as educators continue rebuilding after recent economic challenges.
“As a local brand, we know our success depends on the well-being of the communities we serve. This partnership allows us to honor those who nurture the foundation of our economy,” he concluded.
KFC Joins with E86,000 Donation
Adding to the momentum, SNAT Secretary General Lot Vilakati announced that another Lojaf Group subsidiary, KFC Eswatini, has donated E86,000 worth of soft drinks to support the event.
Vilakati called this gesture “a meaningful extension of corporate goodwill,” highlighting how businesses are moving toward collaborative, inclusive support models that directly benefit recipients.
“Teachers are not just employees; they are nation builders. This gesture helps make them feel recognized, valued, and celebrated,” he said.

A Celebration of Dedication and Unity
The 2025 Teachers’ Day celebration, organized by SNAT with the endorsement of the Ministry of Education and Training, will start at 10:00 AM and continue into the evening. A ministry circular confirmed that while exams will proceed as scheduled, teachers are allowed to attend the event, reflecting the government’s appreciation for their contributions.
Headlining performers include Sjava and Khadeair, along with local stars Linda Dlamini, Phathwakahle, M Nation, DJ Lolo, Trend Twins, and Lady Zee.
Tickets cost E50 for SNAT members and E200 for non-members and are available through Computicket, MojaTicket, SNAT platforms, and Pick n Pay outlets.
