ESIA Brings Over 500 Global Exams to Eswatini Through Pearson VUE Partnership

The Eswatini Institute of Accountants (ESIA) has partnered with Pearson VUE, a global leader in computer-based testing, to offer over 500 internationally recognized online examinations locally.

This development enables candidates in Eswatini to access global qualifications without the financial and logistical burden of traveling abroad.

Through this partnership, ESIA now provides a convenient, professional, and cost-effective platform for examinations across multiple sectors while maintaining internationally recognized standards. For years, emaSwati and candidates from neighboring countries had to travel overseas to sit for these exams, often at significant expense.

While ESIA is traditionally known as the regulator for accounting and auditing professions in Eswatini, this initiative reflects the institute’s broader vision of fostering professional growth across diverse fields.

As an affiliate of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA), ESIA already offers globally respected exams such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), and the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS). The introduction of Pearson VUE further cements ESIA’s position as a trusted gateway to international qualifications.

The more than 500 examinations now available through ESIA cover a wide array of sectors, including Accounting, Finance & Auditing, Healthcare & Medical Professions, Legal & Regulatory Professions, Teaching and Education, Technology, IT & Cybersecurity, Engineering, Architecture & Construction, Business & Management, Military, Security & Law Enforcement, Trade Skills, Technical Professions, and International & Professional Associations.

Among the available exams are globally recognized certifications from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), CISCO, the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), and the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions Development Initiative (IDI-INTOSAI), among many others.

Speaking on the development, ESIA Executive Director Dr. Ndiphilethe Mabila described the partnership as a “game-changer” for Eswatini.

“We are opening doors to global opportunities right here at home, making world-class qualifications more accessible than ever before,” he said.

Tyrone Jacobs, an ESIA member and Chairperson of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), highlighted the benefits for professional growth in the country.

“Having the Pearson VUE platform locally available will facilitate the exam writing process. As the IIA aspires to grow the profession of internal auditing in Eswatini, this partnership will greatly aid the achievement of that vision,” he said. “The gap in the achievement of professional qualifications has now been closed. It is a win not only for the industry but for the economy as a whole.”

Through this partnership, ESIA reaffirms its commitment to empowering emaSwati and the broader region by expanding access to international qualifications and professional advancement opportunities. With Pearson VUE now available at ESIA, global opportunities are no longer out of reach; they are right here.
