The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) has opened applications for local food and beverage producers to exhibit at the Kaohsiung Food Show 2025 (KFS), one of Taiwan’s premier food trade fairs, scheduled for 23-26 October 2025 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre in Taiwan.
Local businesses can apply by visiting https://tinyurl.com/2025KFSForm by the deadline of 27 August 2025. The selected businesses will be featured in the Eswatini Pavilion and supported by EIPA during the event. Eswatini’s participation in the Kaohsiung Food Show 2025 is supported by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and facilitated by EIPA.
The Kaohsiung Food Show is renowned for connecting high-quality food and beverage producers with top-tier distributors, importers, and retail chains from across Asia and beyond. In 2024, the event hosted over 320 domestic and international exhibitors attracting approximately 15,900 visitors, including industry decision-makers in sourcing, procurement, and retail.
“The KFS is more than just an exhibition, it is a direct gateway to a dynamic consumer market with an appetite for Eswatini made products,” said Thandeka Dlamini, EIPA’s Manager for External Trade Promotion, in a press release. “For Eswatini’s food and beverage producers, this platform offers brand exposure, the chance to connect with influential buyers, and the opportunity to secure deals that can significantly boost export numbers in the short and long term.”
The Kaohsiung Food Show features a wide array of categories including fresh fruits and products, seafood, meat and dairy, bakery items, beverages such as coffee, tea, wine and spirits, frozen prepared canned and processed foods, confectionery, spices, condiments, oils & food ingredients, dehydrated foods, health and leisure foods, functional and snack products, and others.
Exhibitors can enjoy a range of benefits by showcasing their products at KFS 2025. They will have access to Asia-Pacific markets, gain exposure to valuable market intelligence on trends, packaging, and buyer requirements, gain access to strategic networking opportunities with importers, retailers, and foodservice professionals, as well as increased brand exposure to an international market.

Local businesses who export to Taiwan benefit from the Eswatini-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA). Under the Agreement, exporters can enjoy tariff reductions and preferential export terms. At the 27th Economic and Technical Cooperation Conference between the two countries, held on 2 July 2025, it was revealed that bilateral trade reached US$8.19 million in 2024, up 8% from 2017 levels, with Eswatini’s exports to Taiwan increasing by more than 29% over the same period.
Dlamini noted that these trade terms provide a strong foundation for growth: “The Economic Cooperation Agreement with Taiwan provides compelling export advantages for Eswatini producers, not only through preferential market access and tariff relief but also through institutional support and regional strategic positioning. Exhibiting at the Kaohsiung Food Show can transform these advantages into real export growth and international partnerships for Eswatini businesses.”
