By Inside Biz

This year, FNB Eswatini proudly celebrates 30 years of providing exceptional banking services to emaSwati.

The celebration for this milestone is scheduled to take place on the 13th of April, 2025. The bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Thokozani ‘TK’ Dlamini, expressed immense excitement about the achievements of the bank since opening doors in the kingdom.

“In April 1995, we began our journey in Eswatini, and today we are proud to be a business that is listed on the Eswatini Stock Exchange (ESE), with local shareholders, and to be serving hundreds of emaSwati, through a bank that is predominantly led by emaSwati, and that almost half of Executive Management is made of female leaders,” he noted.

Dlamini added that they are proud of the role they have played in revolutionizing banking in the country. He mentioned the introduction of innovative products such as the FNB App, eWallet, and Automated Teller Deposit machines as instrumental in providing convenience to the lives of emaSwati.

The CEO adamantly stated that their innovation and help will not stop. “As we look to the future, we are excited about evolving our help beyond banking as we know it. We will continue to relentlessly pursue opportunities to make the lives of our customers easier while playing an impactful role in the development of Eswatini. We are proud of our deep roots in Eswatini, underscored by our head office in Ezulwini, 14 branches, and a network of over 500 active CashPlus agents.”

Moreover, Dlamini stressed that they will continue contributing to the nation at large, through initiatives such as the use of local suppliers for their procurement, and their scored lending for SMEs; 1% profit after tax contribution to the FNB Eswatini Foundation, which supports social impact projects.

The CEO also took the opportunity to thank his predecessors who have played a pivotal role in ensuring that FNB Eswatini becomes the success that it is today.

“I would like to thank my predecessors, their respective governing Boards, and shareholders who excellently laid the foundation for FNB Eswatini to become the business that it is today. This milestone has also been enabled by support from regulatory entities.”

Dlamini then appreciated two staff members who are still part of the bank, having joined in 1995.

“Our achievements over the years would not have been possible without the hard work of our employees, some of whom, like Make Nonjabulo Mthembu and Make Cebile Vilakati, who began the journey with us in 1995, and to date continue to contribute to the success of our operations and retail teams. It is for that reason that I want to pay a special tribute to all FNBers, past and present, for their role in shaping the help that we have been able to give EmaSwati over the three decades.”

He concluded by thanking FNB customers who have been with them over the years.
