After three years of development, the sustainable, affordable, movable housing project, Eezpods, has officially launched in Eswatini, introducing a new, eco-friendly, and flexible housing solution to the country’s previously non-existent movable housing market.
The launch event took place at Dwaleni, where project manager Joe Roques introduced the innovative product to influencers, media personnel, and potential clients.
The event allowed attendees to learn more about EezyPods and engage with the brand. Speaking at the launch, Roques shared that the product line aims to revolutionize the housing market by offering customizable, quickly deployable homes that are both sustainable and affordable.
“The idea for EezyPods started over three years ago when I used my building and design expertise to create an affordable housing solution that was not only sustainable but also mobile,” Roques explained. “I wanted to create a home that could be easily moved while being environmentally friendly.”
Roques explained that this vision led to the creation of a movable structure that could be built in a factory, ensuring quicker production times and reducing on-site construction challenges like weather disruptions, transportation issues, and theft.
The first model launched in Eswatini is the Osprey, a pre-made, ready-to-move unit that offers a unique living experience. The Osprey model features a compact design with a one-room setup and an optional solar-powered air conditioning system.
Roques emphasized that solar integration is one of the country’s first, making Eezypods an eco-conscious option for homeowners seeking off-the-grid solutions.
“The Osprey model starts at E414,000, but Eezypods offers various models with flexible pricing,” Roques noted. “The range includes the Outro, a two-bedroom model starting at E240,000, ideal for use as a gym or office space.”
Customizations such as kitchens, bathrooms, or solar energy options are also available, allowing clients to personalize their pods to suit their needs. He clarified that their pods are made from steel, not containers, have larger dimensions, and are designed with sustainability at their core. “Each pod is equipped with rainwater harvesting systems and can be fitted with solar panels.”
One of the key advantages of Eezypods is its mobility. The pods are designed to be transported easily and set up quickly. “We handle all plumbing and electrical work in the factory, pressure-testing everything to ensure no leaks before delivery,” Roques explained.
This attention to detail ensures that clients have a seamless experience when the pods are delivered and connected to local infrastructure. Eezyods can be installed on any site, even on a hilltop, providing a flexible and efficient housing solution.
In addition to the modular and customizable nature of the pods, Eezyods offers an ideal solution for rental income. Roques highlighted that the pods can be placed anywhere and rented out immediately, making them an attractive investment opportunity for generating income quickly.
With a strong presence on Instagram and TikTok, the company is focused on making the brand accessible to a broader audience. “We’ve got promotions, giveaways, and some exciting new products coming soon,” Roques concluded.
