NTT Toyota Eswatini has donated tracksuits and golf T-shirts to the senior women’s national football team, Sitsebe SaMhlekazi, ahead of their departure to Johannesburg for the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Qualifiers 2nd leg match against Namibia.
WAFCON is the premier women’s football competition in Africa, organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and features national teams from across the continent competing for the title of the best women’s football team in Africa.
Held every four years, the tournament also serves as a qualifying event for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, with the top teams earning automatic qualification for the upcoming World Cup. This makes WAFCON a crucial competition for women’s football teams in Africa.
The match against Namibia is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 26th February 2025, at 15:00 hrs.
During the presentation of the merchandise to the national team, NTT Toyota Eswatini’s Sales Executive, Laurence Methula, expressed the company’s excitement in supporting the development of sports in the kingdom.
“As NTT Toyota Eswatini, we are excited to be part of the development of sports in the country, and we wish you all the best as you go to compete outside the country,” Methula said.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the Eswatini Football Association (EFA), Frederick Mngomezulu, acknowledged the support from NTT Toyota Eswatini.
“We acknowledge and appreciate the support from NTT Toyota Eswatini and promise that we will take good care of the merchandise. We also promise NTT Toyota Eswatini that by investing in football, they, through us, will make their brand visible on the international stage,” Mngomezulu said.
Mngomezulu took the opportunity to encourage the female players to believe in themselves ahead of the 2nd leg match.

Also speaking to the media, the Head Coach of the national team, Bongani Makhukhula, highlighted that they learned a lot from the 1st leg of the tie.
“We learned a valuable lesson from the 1st leg and we will be all out for the 2nd leg. We ask the fans to be patient and supportive with us as we represent the kingdom,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the national team, Captain Nonhle Simelane pleaded for more support. “We are asking for the kingdom’s support as we wish to come back with a positive result,” she said.
