The Chairman of A Peculiar People, Melusi Zox Dlamini has revealed that over 150 businesses have registered for the upcoming Eswatini Consumer Fair in 9 days.
Dlamini is well known in the events space having curated multiple events such as the Eswatini Revenue Blueprint Masterclass, Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards, and the Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair.
Sharing his excitement over the early registrations Dlamini said, “Registration for the Fair opened on February 3, and in just 9 days more than 150 local brands have already registered.”
“However, it’s important to note that not all registrations will guarantee participation. All submissions will undergo a review process, and only successful applicants will be contacted. This is especially crucial for food and beverage exhibitors, as only those meeting the quality standards set by the government and Municipal Council of Mbabane will be selected.”
Dlamini described the Fair as more than just an exhibition but as an economic catalyst.
“By bringing together government representatives, buyers, distributors, retail chain stores, and the general public, this Fair will provide local businesses with valuable visibility, enable entrepreneurs to secure long-term partnerships, and give them direct market access to consumers. It will also drive job creation by stimulating demand for local goods and celebrate Eswatini’s rich and diverse products,” he said.
The event is set to coincide with National Flag Day, a public holiday, offering an ideal opportunity for citizens to gather in a spirit of economic empowerment and patriotism.
“This will be a perfect occasion to unite and show our support for Eswatini’s local businesses,” Dlamini added.
Meanwhile, Mbabane East Constituency Member of Parliament Welcome Dlamini joined in urging local businesses to take full advantage of this opportunity.
“I encourage all businesses, entrepreneurs, and local producers to register and participate in this incredible event. Whether you are in fashion, food production, crafts, beauty, beverages, or home essentials—this fair is for you,” he said.

He also called on the public to attend in large numbers, emphasizing that every purchase made at the Fair would contribute to strengthening the nation’s economy.
“The success of this initiative relies on public awareness and participation. Let us work together to ensure that every entrepreneur, consumer, and stakeholder is informed about this event and understands its potential impact on our economy,” he concluded.
