29 Graduate From EWSC Management Development Programme

The MDP programme done in partnership with the University of Eswatini covers a wide spectrum of key leadership courses, from Leading a customer-centric organization, Leading Change with Foresight for Growth, Problem-solving through Integrated Lean 6 Sigma, Performance Management, and Personal Mastery. The MDP has been meticulously crafted to empower employees with cutting-edge leadership skills, ensuring they thrive and excel in today’s demanding corporate environment.

The Eswatini Water Services Corporation (EWSC) on Friday celebrated the graduation of its second cohort from the Corporation’s Management Development Programme (MDP). The MDP launched by the Corporation in 2022, was designed internally to align with the Corporation’s goals, challenges, and opportunities. 

EWSC’s Director Strategy and Digitisation, Sicelo Dlamini during the graduation ceremony shared that the MDP has been meticulously crafted to empower employees with cutting-edge leadership skills, ensuring they thrive and excel in today’s demanding corporate environment. 

“The programme in partnership with the University of Eswatini covers a wide spectrum of key leadership courses, from Leading a customer-centric organization, Leading Change with Foresight for Growth, Problem-solving through Integrated Lean 6 Sigma, Performance Management, and Personal Mastery,” he added.

The EWSC MDP program is delivered by a team of highly qualified and experienced trainers from South Africa and Eswatini, including Professor Basil Leonard, Professor Rija, Human Capital development facilitator Futhi Sibiya, Business Process Improvement specialist Moses Khumalo, Human Capital strategist Mncedzi Ngomane, Diversity and Inclusion specialist Dominic Gaobepe and Accounts & Finance Lecturer at UNESWA Mfundo Msibi. 

The Vice Chancellor of UNESWA, Professor Thwala, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the EWSC leadership for their invaluable partnership and unwavering support in making the Management Development Programme (MDP) a resounding success. Professor Thwala emphasized the significance of this partnership with a local institution, highlighting how it strengthens the bond between academia and industry. 

“This partnership exemplifies the positive impact that can be achieved when local institutions join forces to foster innovation, leadership, and sustainable development within the community,” he said.

During the graduation ceremony, EWSC’s Managing Director, Jabulile Mashwama commended the graduates for their dedication and perseverance in completing the MDP. She encouraged the graduates to take up space and embrace their roles with confidence and vision. Mashwama further highlighted the importance of not just managing tasks but also inspiring and guiding others towards a shared vision.

“As the second cohort, you have continued to set a benchmark for excellence, inspiring future cohorts to follow in your footsteps. The knowledge and skills you have acquired during the MDP should serve as a strong foundation upon which you will build your future successes. Some of you present here today have stepped into new leadership roles following the organizational redesign. I trust that the MDP has equipped you to thrive in your new functions. Continue to embrace growth, seize opportunities, and lead with integrity and purpose.”

During her address, the MD underscored the Corporation’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. The graduates were reminded that their journey is just the beginning, and their leadership will be crucial in driving the Corporation’s mandate forward.

It is worth noting that the Corporation is undergoing an extensive organizational redesign.
